Stir fried vegetables: a Chinese style side dish

Stir fried vegetables are one of my favourite way to prepare vegetables. Fast, tasty and versatile. This is also one of the dishes that really reminds me of China. Ideally you use some big leaves vegetables such as water spinach, spinach, cabbage, or whatever does the trick for you.

Stir fried spinach is an excellent side dish for meat but also pasta (see my 5-minute sesame noodles)

Ingredients:

  • Vegetables
  • Garlic
  • Chili
  • Vegetable oil

Preparation

Heat about two table spoons of oil in a wok or large pan. Add the garlic and chili (it should make a sizzling sound when you add them to the wok) and cook for a short while.

Add your vegetables and toss them in the pan for about 1 minute.

Done. Enjoy.

5-Minute Sesame Noodles

Sesame noodles with stir fried spinach

Sesame Noodles

Ingredients:

  • Noodles
  • Soy sauce
  • Peanutbutter
  • Sesame paste
  • Vegetable oil
  • Sugar

Mix the peanut butter and sesame paste with sesame oil and a bit of water to make the base paste. Depending on your preference add more or less water to turn the past into a broth.

Cook your noodles to taste in unsalted water.

Add the paste and the noodles to your wok and mix well. READY 🙂
